Jiří was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome which creates problems with social interaction. He is a self injurer from the age of 15. He is perceived as a very depressive and negative person by his neighbourhood, thanks to this disorder, many people avoid him. However, I found out he is a very sensitive man. I am trying to capture my view of his personality and also break the stereotypes, according to which people with psychological problems are often perceived in society.
|| Where did I sleep last night
In my project I capture real places, landscapes and events that are embedded in my consciousness and seeps to the surface through my imaginations and dreams. Repeatedly I find myself in the same places in which to place various scenarios. At these places I find myself also through my imagination when reading books or listening to someone's story.
In my photographs I visualize my feelings of being confined or inable to escape from something, unpleasant confrontation with changeability and transiency of all things.
The aim of my project Sisters is capturing the similarities or differences of sisters and the relationship between them.
|| Meeting the Lynx
Lynx, called Blondie, was born in the Zájezd zoo. His mother wasn´t able to take care of him, because of medical reason, therefor he was adopted by human "mother" - Jirka. Blondie is fixed on him as to his biological mother he takes other people as his friends. We can organize lectures with him where he feels comfortably and moves freely between people.
Organizers of the lectures realize that meeting lynx face to face, possibility to caress him and take a photo is a big temptation for visitors. They use this opportunity to spread the information about wild living lynx. The areas, where the lynx is living, are chosen as a place to take the lecture. The most important is to let people know how useful the lynx are for wild nature, what is the lynx role as a predator. These lectures also break down myths about lynx as a loss of wildlife and show no more need to eliminate the lynx.
The lectures are partly aim on primary schools, where the meeting the lynx was unforgettable experience. Organizers wanted to show the "lynx mission" for nature and arouse interest for protecting the nature in young children.
Blondie has been living with Jirka in his home untill his first birthday. Lynx are solitary animals in adulthood. To follow the nature instincts Blondie is located in his own paddock in Zajezd now. The question is whether Blondie will continue to seek human contact or not.
